Welcome to Garthmyl Hall, a refined country house in the heart of Mid Wales

A lovingly restored Welsh retreat rooted in history and style

Garthmyl Hall offers a chic blend of historical charm and modern luxury, set against the backdrop of Mid Wales’ breathtaking countryside. With a variety of unique, flexible spaces available, our venue brings an eclectic charm to every celebration. The stunning gardens and stylish, warm interiors ensure that Garthmyl Hall stands out as a venue that consistently impresses, offering the perfect canvas for a celebration that’s both sophisticated and spectacular.

The Hall

Dating back to 1859, the Hall strikes the perfect balance between heritage charm and modern romance, expertly blending the old with the new. Within the historic walls are a variety of versatile reception and gathering spaces perfect for multi-day events, such as weddings, receptions, private parties, and more, each in Garthmyl’s signature style. The Hall is entirely yours to explore and enjoy, offering a unique backdrop that encourages creativity and celebration in equal measure.

The Setting

Sitting pretty amidst the rugged Welsh countryside on the borders of Montgomeryshire and Shropshire, Garthmyl Hall offers a setting that’s truly hard to beat. Our little slice of rural heaven includes sprawling grounds, an enchanting Walled Garden, and views that stretch into lush, rolling hills. It’s an idyllic backdrop for those looking for a mix of rustic charm and chic vibes; all wrapped up in the natural beauty of Wales.

The Ballroom

Painted in a palette of blush, sage and gold, the Ballroom elevates every occasion. Adjacent to the Gentleman’s Bar and with French doors leading to the Marquee, our Ballroom is licensed for indoor ceremonies and perfect for intimate decadent banquets. It’s a one-of-a-kind space featuring a marble console table, gilt mirrors, and a sparkling crystal chandelier, creating a romantic, refined wedding setting.

The Marquee

Wrapped in crisp white draping with a central chandelier and boasting views of the gardens, our blank canvas Marquee is as neutral as it is versatile. With sides that peel away for that breezy, al fresco feel, it’s perfect for putting your personal touch on summer festivities and receptions year-round. Seating up to 160 for dinner or 200 for a dance floor-filled evening, it’s the ultimate spot to craft your unique wedding celebration.

The Orangery

The Orangery is one of our many hidden gems, blending rustic charm with destination wedding vibes in its reclaimed glasshouse structure. Its stripped-back neutrals and open, airy design make it an ideal location for everything from pre-wedding meals to intimate ceremonies or even as a unique cocktail bar or photo booth. With clean lines, white-washed walls, and trailing grapevines overhead, it’s a haven for botanical lovers and perfectly mirrors the natural beauty outside.

Walled Garden

Drawing inspiration from The Secret Garden and the enchanting gardens at Aberglasney in Carmarthen, our Walled Garden is a masterpiece of restoration. It manages to harmoniously blend the wild with the manicured and the historic with the contemporary, creating a magical setting for up to 200 guests to witness your vows beneath the open sky surrounded by an ever-changing backdrop of seasonal blooms.

The Bars

Our trio of bars, which are dotted around the venue, keep the vibe lively and glasses clinking throughout the day. The Gentleman’s Bar, located next to the Ballroom, is the epitome of classic elegance, while the Orangery’s bar is perfect for sipping something cool and refreshing while relaxing on the terrace. And for the night owls, our secret Cellar Bar is the perfect after-party hideout. Each bar offers its own unique twist, ensuring that wherever you are, the drinks are kept flowing, and the atmosphere remains joyous from start to finish.
